This is the injection plastic mold for electrical car’s cluster. To support the LCD and give the right light to the display. size is 250X550mm; customer put it inside of cluster. We need keep the flatness within 0.3mm so that the display has the right function. So we should keep it as good as possible. A lof of shutoff and the thickness is so high so that we need keep the mold precision very nice otherwise it will have burrs.
In order to get better flatness we use moldflow to simulation and our experience to get better solution.

1. Since most of material in on cavity side. so we have to find the right draft angle etc to keep the parts in core side after mold open.
2. The thickness is so high that we have to take care about the filling balance to avoid deformation.
